Our Hotel Near the Intrepid

Walk to the Intrepid

Just five minutes west of Ink 48, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum contains a treasure trove of American military and naval history, and it's all on a genuine aircraft carrier. How many museums can boast that they've seen combat and survived two wars, five kamikaze attacks and a torpedo strike?

Known as one of the most successful battleships in U.S. history, the Intrepid may no longer be in active service, but the legendary warship's legacy lives on with over one million visitors annually.

The floating National Historic Landmark is home to an odyssey of sea, air, and spacecraft. Visit the USS Growler, a decommissioned guided missile submarine and the only vehicle of its kind currently open to the public. Aspiring astronauts will adore the Space Shuttle Pavilion, which houses the prototype orbiter Enterprise along with numerous relics and audio recordings from NASA's archives.

The Intrepid Museum offers free general admission to active-duty military and veterans with valid identification and 50% off general Museum admission to NYC residents.
